Montagne Jeunesse Products

Montagne Jeunesse Face Mask. "Jam packed with the most delicious natural ingredients and are bursting with luscious juicy fragrances. "
I have tried these masks so many times and they are so wonderful. When I want to pamper myself and have a little night to myself I always have one of these ready to use. They come in so many scents and so many types (for example Dead Sea Mud, Fruit Smoothie, Cucumber peel-off, etc). They're perfect to just put on and maybe take a bubble bath or just lay back and relax and enjoy the scents. Also, they come in single packs that you could probably use twice with all the product you get. And typically they're only a few bucks, so they're perfect for gifts, too! I like to make spa packs for my friends for gifts and I always include a few of these.

For more info on this company visit Montagne Jeunesse's Site!

**I was given this product to test through Influenster's VoxBox Program I've already talked about in previous blogs. Check it out! However all opinions are my own.

NYC - New York Color

This brand of makeup is one of my favorites and I always always always go to that section when I visit the drugstore. I wanted to share some recent buys from them that I love. :) To get more information about the company or products visit New York Color's website.

New York Color (NYC) Liquid Lip Shine. "Straight from the city that never sleeps New York Color's Liquid Lip Shine is uptown style at a down to earth price. With pure pigments that create a 3d gloss effect with vitamin E that provides shine and moisture, this product is perfect to keep lips looking and feeling fabulous this season. Comes in 10 shades from neutral nude to berries and fuchsias."
I love this lipgloss. I repeat, I LOVE this lipgloss. I received a nude color called "Nude York City-582" and it is absolutely gorgeous, definitely flattering on all skin tones. It is a nude shimmery color with the slightest pink undertone, and it's just perfect. The color reminds me of a cappuccino and as luck would have it, it smells that way too! It has a wonderful coffee infused scent to it, unless that's just me of course, and it's so tempting to lick off your lips. The wand is a little awkward because it is a longer applicator but it is still amazing. And of course being from NYC you know it is affordable. It is only a little over two bucks, who can beat that?! Oh wait, NYC probably could. :D
**I received this product from Influenster, a website I've talked about in the past.

NYC 16 Hour Lipstain
I have this lipstain in Persistent Pink 490, and I love these more than the Covergirl or Revlon lipstains. Not only are they almost half the price, they seem to be less harsh looking on my lips. This color especially looks very natural. They also do last very long as well without looking flaky or dry. If you're looking for a cheaper lipstain that works just as well as the more pricey ones, this one is a perfect choice, and they come in very pretty colors.

New Influenster Holiday VoxBox! Read for reviews :)

Hello lovely readers it is time for another VoxBox from Influenster.com, and this time it is their Holiday VoxBox! I'll get right into it but first I thought I'd point out some things about Influenster. I got into this from a comment on one of my youtube videos and they had a Beauty VoxBox and that's how I got started with it, but anyway, basically you fill in your information and unlock certain "badges" for example I am a student so I have a student badge. Then when they come out with these boxes, they pick certain people with certain badges or characteristics that they're looking for. You test the products and take a survey about them, and/or review them for others to see! So if you're interested please check out Influenster's website to read more! Now I'll get into the products...

1. imPRESS Press-on Manicure by Broadway Nails. "Introducing imPRESS, the revolutionary way to apply polish! Featuring advanced technology, you will get a salon-perfect manicure in seconds, simply peel off, press on, and you're done! No drying time. imPress comes in 36 colors and patterns including trendy brights, fun prints, classic darks, and animal prints."
Ok, so when I saw these I was excited because I love having nails and getting my nails done, so I thought what could be better? But first when I saw the pattern I received I wasn't too excited because I got a white pattern with silver lined detail (sounds cute right?) but then they have splotches of leopard print on them which does look cute and trendy but isn't too my style. However, I looked into it a little more and they do actually have some cute patterns and colors so that's refreshing. Now... I don't know how many of you are informed about the 80's trends, but this just makes me think of the press on nails from that time. Lee Press On Nails I believe? You peel off the sticker, press on the nail, and... that's supposed to last? I have experiences with glued on nails and even THOSE come off easily. However the package does say the nails only last up to a week. 'Up to' being the key words I suppose. I have yet to try these because I got my nails done recently and I'm not going to butcher those just to try these press on things. I'll follow up though!

2. Softsoap Coconut Scrub Bar Soap. "Renew your skin with new softsoap coconut scrub bar soap. Enriched with crushed coconut extract, this bar soap gently exfoliates to renew your skin's surface, while helping retain natural moisture for soft, supple skin. Also comes in two other exotic fragrances: Juice Pomegranate & Mango Infusions and Sweet Honey suckle & Orange Peel."
Soap! Everyone loves soap. I happen to have this product already so I can speak from experience. I love the fact that the soap exfoliates your skin, and it doesn't just leave your skin feeling filmy and oily like some soaps can. It leaves your skin truly feeling soft and clean just like when you exfoliate your face. I am not a fan of things coconut so the scent isn't my favorite but it does smell nice. Inexpensive, definitely worth the purchase if you don't want to buy super expensive exfoliating body products.

With pure pigments that create a 3d gloss effect with vitamin E that provides shine and moisture, this product is perfect to keep lips looking and feeling fabulous this season. Comes in 10 shades from neutral nude to berries and fuchsias."

The wand is a little awkward because it is a longer applicator but it is still amazing. And of course being from NYC you know it is affordable.

5. Mentos Pure Fresh Gum. "We're sure you know Mentos, but did you know they have a sugar free gum? Whether it's before a holiday party, date or meeting, pop Mentos pure fresh gum for a quick refresh! The crunchy outer shell conceals a green tea extract core that provides an immediate burst of coolness for long lasting fresh breath. Its unique container keeps gum protected in your purse!"
Who doesn't love a nice pack of gum? I love original mentos so I assumed this would be a winner, and I was right. My pack is already empty and was empty after a few days. First, the container is perfect because I hate when I have to unwrap a piece of gum and then I have to toss the wrapper in my purse, which makes for a messy purse. I like that the gum comes in the container unwrapped and you can just pop one in your mouth! It's definitely a cooling gum and adds a nice freshness to your breath when you need a pick me up.

6. Larabar. "Made from only 2-9 ingredients, each larabar is a delicious blend of just fruits, nuts and spices. Pure and simple, just as nature intended. Larabar comes in 19 delicious flavors."
So I received  Coconut Cream Pie, and as I said, I hate coconut. Lucky me, right? So I gave this product to my mom, who ate it right away and loved it. She described them as smooth and a nice treat for during the day or a snack. The other flavors sound DELICIOUS for example Peanut Butter Cookie, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Lemon Bar, etc.

7. X Out Wash-in Treatment. "The makers of Proactiv, America's number one acne system, announce the launch of a new unique one step wash in treatment that washes powerful breakout fighting medicine into pores to help kill bacteria that causes pimples and treat existing ones while moisturizing to protect the skin. With no parabens or sulfates, this product is suitable for all skin types."
I used Proactiv for a bit, and I was not impressed. My acne was still awful and it was until I went to a dermatologist, but with acne, everyone is different. However, I do like this product. It has an exfoliating component to it, and after I wash my face with it my skin feels so clean and soft like my pores have just taken their first breath in years. The beauty of this product is it can be used 3 ways, as a spot treatment, a mask, or facewash. For a spot treatment, it just says to dab on zits, leave on for 10 minutes, then wash out. Same for the mask, except of course you put it all over. For facewash you just scrub your face for 2 minutes and rinse. Now, if you're like me you'd get bored after like a minute. They've thought of that! On the side of the bottle, there's a little thing (I don't know what they're called because I don't have a smartphone) that you smartphone owners can scan, and you'll be redirected to a video that changes everyday to distract you for 2 minutes. I thought that was clever. Just be careful having your phone near water.... So I really like this wash and it has a surprisingly nice scent to it, it isn't harsh at all. It is $19.95 a month, same as regular proactiv, so if you have the bucks, I'd recommend it.

Let me know if you have tried any of these and have your own opinions! Love you all!

The Beauty Blender - A Revolution in Foundation Application

So I know a lot of people already know about the beautyblender, but I just tried it, so now it's my turn to rave about it and go nuts for it. This little pink sponge is the perfect tool when it comes to making your face look next to flawless. If you are unaware of the beautyblender, it is a little egg-shaped pink makeup sponge, the sponge itself costs around 20 dollars, but they also have different combo packages you can purchase to save some money. I recently purchased the package from Cherry Culture where you receive two beautyblender sponges and the beautyblender cleanser. This package was $39.95, which I do realize is super pricey for us bargain shoppers, but I felt the need to risk it. And I'm so happy I did! It is so soft and my face definitely looks flawless after I apply my foundation. And best of all, you can use this for cream blushes or concealers! There's a larger round end that is perfect for stippling your foundation or blush on, and there's a more pointed tip end for applying foundation or concealer to the eye area. The only thing you must remember when using the beauty blender is to completely wet it before using. You should run it under water, squeeze out excess water and wrap it in a towel until it is damp, but not dripping at all. This is what will give you that beautiful, flawless finish. And also, be sure to use the cleanser after I'd say 1-3 uses, just to be safe. I definitely recommend this product to any girl who's looking for a new way to apply foundation. Any questions please let me know! And check out my youtube channel!

Fall Beauty/Fashion Resolutions

We all make New Years Resolutions, but what about each individual season? I've been writing my goals down since I was able to write, but now I've started to section them into season. Leaving all the boring, personal ones behind like "Save more money for school" (Yeah, right) I wanted to share some Fall beauty/fashion resolutions and hopefully hear some of yours! I think it's good to set beauty and fashion goals because then you have clearly set out some of the things you want to try. Here it goes!

1. I'd like to try more dark colored lipsticks. And I'm not at all talking blacks or super dark purples. That's fine for some, but just not my style. I'm almost always wearing pink lipstick. I might throw a coral in there every now and then, but that's as crazy as I get. I want to try some wine colors, maybe some more bronze-y shades, and oh my lord maybe a RED LIPSTICK? I've always been nervous about red, but I want to try it! College is the perfect place to try looks because the people I see have no clue who I was before that day, so they can't judge or see it as different.
2. Slouchy socks with boots. I think this is such a cute look, and I have quite enough boots to pull it off. I've seen it in about every magazine, and I absolutely love it. I think for my area, any type of fashion "risk" is going to be looked at funny, but at school I'm known to be one of the very few girls who actually dress up for class. I hate wearing sweatpants, and dressing down for me is wearing jeans. But anyhoo, I want to try this!
3. Try the pin up look, a dramatic version. Not the cutesy, doll eye lashes and that's it. Kandee Johnson has a very fun pin up girl look that actually looks accurate, it isn't just big eyes. I want to try that look maybe for a night out, because the lips are pretty dramatic. But it looks like so much fun!
4. Combat boots + LBD = A hot night out! I've seen chicks like Miley Cyrus sport this look many times, and it looks so badass yet still sexy. I have combat boots and I have worn them with more girly outfits to edge it up, but never with a sexy LBD, and I really want to try it!
5. High Waisted Shorts or Pants. Very risky, for me at least, because I already have hips so I don't need to add to it. However, I saw a photo of Kim Kardashian wearing some cute high waisted pants and I read more on it and as long as it is a dark wash, us hippy girls are safe. Also, if there are buttons going down in a sailor type style, that actually slims you down. So I'm off to find those, probably at Forever21.
6. False Eyelashes. I know, I know, someone out there is saying "THAT'S your goal?" but I really have never worn them except for 2 times for a costume. But the thing is, I have long  eyelashes already, and I don't want to look nuts. But I feel like if I wear them on a night out with all things amped up, it'll look good.
7. Darker colored nails. Also something some girls might be shocked by, but typically I stick to pastel colors on my nails, but I want to stick to the seasons for once. Like lipsticks, I want to try more wine colored polishes and plums. I have them, I just need to use them. I picked out a ton from Wet n Wild and NYC because they were a buck each, so if I don't like it, I didn't lose as much as I would have had I chosen Essie.

So that's it for now, but I'll add as I feel them come along. Please, please share yours! They might inspire some goals of mine! Dont't forget to check out my youtube channel, as well. Toodles!

Fashion Pieces That Can Work With Every Style & Book Recommendation

I strongly strongly recommend picking up the Seventeen Guide to Style either online or at your local bookstore, because this book has made me so giddy happy lately because it has so many good fashion ideas not only for any girl's style, but for any time of the year! It has inspired me so much, and has even made me curious to try new things. So I think any girl with any level of interest in fashion should totally get this book as soon as possible!

Anyhoo, here are pieces that can work no matter what style you have. I think when we start to think that certain looks can only have certain pieces, we put ourselves in a box, and I don't want to be like that and I'm sure most of you don't either. So hop out of that box and try something new!

1. Floral dresses.
I love these so much and I have wayy too many, but they really are very versatile! You can make them super girly by pairing them with nude heels or a cute little sweater, or you can make it look a little more bohemian by adding some cowboy boots or a vintage looking scarf or feather earrings. To make it look more edgy or grunge looking, I like to add some combat boots or a leather jacket. I think as long as you add touches that reflect your personality and style, you can always rock a floral dress and make it your own.

2. White tees
A white tshirt is a basic that anyone should have no matter what style you have. Pair this with a flowy floral skirt and some cute jewelry, and some ballet flats and you have yourself a perfect girly look. Or, pair this with a flowy, long maxi skirt, some brown gladiator sandals and a fun, floppy sunhat and you have yourself a boho look. And to make this look a little more edgy or have a rocker vibe, pair it with black skinny jeans, maybe with some studded accents. Add some motorcycle boots or some edgy cuff bracelets and you have a more in your face look. Also, maybe slashing up the white tee with some scissors will be a great touch, just be sure to keep any holes a few inches apart to avoid any big holes forming.

3. Black Leather Jacket

As risky as a leather jacket may feel, don't be afraid to invest in one! Any girl can rock this look, no matter what style you have. You just have to be creative! To girl it up and make it a little more feminine, pair this jacket with a lace dress and very flirty heels and hair. Consider loose curls to make it a little more girly looking. To make the look more laid back and natural looking, pair it with a maxi dress and keep accessories looking natural as well. If you're an edgy girl already, make your look go the distance with some ripped skinnies and some long chain necklaces. For a rocker hair look to make this look complete for you edgy girls, check out This Video by Kandee Johnson on youtube, she's amazing with hair and makeup. Like I said, anyone can rock leather, you just have to own it! Confidence is key.

4. Graphic Tees

Graphic tees are sometimes viewed as too childish or not sophisticated enough for some looks. They're viewed as a strictly jeans and sneakers type of piece. Well I say hey! Why can't we wear them with whatever the heck we want?! So for you girly girls, take a tee with a girly saying or picture on it and pair it with a floral skirt in colors in the same range. For girls with a more boho look, take a tee with more natural vibes to it, like a tee with a feather design on it or one of these cool Tiger Tees from Forever21 and pair it with some long flared jeans or a fun maxi skirt. Just be sure to maybe tuck part of the shirt into the maxi skirt to avoid being lost in the skirt's length and give yourself some shape. To give this look more spunk, throw on that leather jacket I mentioned, or some lightwash skinnies and combat boots. Also, pick a tee with some spunk too! Maybe a shirt with your favorite band on it.

5. Denim Jackets

This is probably one of my most worn pieces. A jean jacket goes with so many looks, you're definitely getting your moneys worth. And my favorite way to score this piece? Vintage thrift stores! Remember the 80's? Well, I don't because I wasn't born then but I've seen the pictures. Denim was in! And guess where everyone's jean jackets from the 80's are now? Thrift stores! So go find some! Make it your own with some fun pins or patches. Anyhoo, to girl up this piece, pair it with a sundress or a sheer blouse. These go well with natural looks by choosing one that is more loose in a lighter wash, and pairing it with a maxi dress and cute sandals.  Pair this jacket with some black leggings, your favorite rugged boots and a long, loose tank and some fun jewelry and you've got a more edged out look.

So there's just 5 pieces that I think can be tossed and turned into any type of style you want! Don't be afraid to purchase something just because you don't think it fits your style. Style takes confidence, not following the leader. So go out and buy that studded cuff bracelet or that floral belt, and incorporate it in your style!

Please leave your own ideas on this topic, or maybe some pictures of how you take unexpected pieces and throw them into a different style!!
